Vi ricordate di quel gruppo di bifolchi che seguiva un messia autoproclamato (e probabilmente pedofilo), che avevano annunciato la fine del mondo. Sono rimasti delusi. Il mondo va avanti. Già l’autore del Vangelo di Marco l’aveva annunciata a breve (13,30-32):

1. ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐ μὴ παρέλθῃ ἡ γενεὰ αὕτη μέχρις οὗ ταῦτα πάντα γένηται. ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ἡ γῆ παρελεύσονται, οἱ δὲ λόγοι μου οὐ μὴ παρελεύσονται. Περὶ δὲ τῆς ἡμέρας ἐκείνης ἢ τῆς ὥρας οὐδεὶς οἶδεν, οὐδὲ οἱ ἄγγελοι ἐν οὐρανῷ οὐδὲ ὁ υἱός, εἰ μὴ ὁ πατήρ.

Una generazione, scriveva Marco. Stiamo ancora aspettando. Forse, duemila anni fa il concetto di generazione era un po’ vago.
